Five NIEHS investigators are approved to use the equipment to obtain bone density, bone mineral content, and body composition measurements from rodent animal models. The contract period of performance is from September 14, 2024 to September 13, 2029, with the base year followed by four 1-year option periods. The delivery location is NIEHS in Durham, NC. The Point of Contact is Donna Webb, with an alternate contact of David Goulding.

Statement of Work
Project Name: Scintica (iNSiGHT DEXA system) Full-Service Contract
Scope: 1-year service contract (option 4-year renewal)
Technical Specifications/ Quantity: The full-service contract for the Scintica iNSiGHT Dexa preclinical system will enhance laboratory productivity by maintaining instrument efficiency with regular preventive maintenance. In addition to annual maintenance, the service contract covers repairs (parts, labor, and travel). This coverage will help minimize the impact that system failure could have on time sensitive data collection for researchers and their data collection/scientific publications. Five investigators in DIR are currently approved to use this equipment to acquire images and scans from rodent animal models.
The system can obtain bone density, bone mineral content, and body composition (i.e.
lean mass and fat mass). It can also obtain rodent radiographic images and has a large scan area with a short scan time to reduce the amount of radiation exposure to the animal.
