About this file
This is a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) issued by Venture Academy, a Utah-based high school located at 508 N 1500 W in Marriott-Slaterville, Utah, for architectural design services. The project encompasses the design of an approximately 12,500 square foot pre-fabricated steel gymnasium addition (100 feet by 125 feet) adjacent to the existing high school building and the remodel of approximately 35 feet by 55 feet of the existing gymnasium to create two stacked classrooms. The gymnasium will feature a full-size regulation basketball court with 6-8 rows of retractable bleachers, an entry vestibule with three restrooms, one custodial closet, and three large storage rooms. The existing gymnasium's remaining space (60 feet by 55 feet) will serve as an auxiliary gym. Statements of qualifications are due electronically in PDF format to the State Public Procurement Website by June 5, 2026, at 12:00 Noon MST. The firm will be selected on or before June 12, 2026, with programming beginning on or near June 22, 2026, and the bid set to be completed by September 15, 2026. The architectural team will be responsible for all phases from programming and concept development through schematic design, design finalization, construction document preparation, site visits, ASI and RFI processing, pay request review, and project close-out.
The RFQ requires separate submissions: qualifications documentation and a fee proposal, both as PDF files. Qualifications will be evaluated on a 100-point scale across three criteria: experience with similar projects and school-specific work (40 points, 32-point minimum threshold), schedule feasibility (30 points, 24-point minimum threshold), and reasonableness of the fee proposal (30 points, 24-point minimum threshold). Firms must achieve a combined minimum score of 80 points and meet minimum thresholds in each category to be considered. The submission must include a cover letter confirming understanding of all RFQ elements and the project schedule, architect firm information with main office and branch office details, team member assignments, a list of at least three client references from the past three years, and identification of likely engineering firms. Venture Academy reserves the right to interview finalist candidates and to select or reject any or all submissions based on its judgment of which firm best meets the school's needs. All inquiries must be directed solely to Mark Child at mchild@venturelearning.org or 801-393-3900; contacting other school staff or community members may result in disqualification.
