About this file

This document is a Request for Quote (RFQ) issued by the City of Palm Bay Utilities Department for a Trailer Caddy unit with specific technical specifications. The RFQ details precise requirements for an electric-powered, battery-operated trailer movement device designed for industrial trailer handling, with key specifications including a heavy-duty steel frame, 36V power system, variable speed operation, and specialized steering configuration for 5th wheel trailers. The equipment is intended for indoor use, requiring zero emissions, and must have capabilities for trailer raising and lowering using battery power.

The solicitation emphasizes strict compliance with technical requirements, with quotes that do not clearly demonstrate adherence potentially being deemed non-responsive. The procurement approach indicates award will be made to the lowest and most responsible vendor deemed in the best interest of the City. Vendors must provide detailed product specifications, warranty information, and operator manuals with their quote submission. The required Trailer Caddy must feature a minimum one-year limited warranty, maintenance-free batteries, hydraulic trailer lift system, emergency stop assembly, and non-marking foam-filled tires. Quotes are to be submitted online via Bonfire, with the City of Palm Bay reserving the right to accept or reject any and all quotes.
