About this file
This is a Drug-Free Workplace Certification Form required by the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners in Florida for vendors bidding on the Cold Weather Shelter Partnerships contract opportunity. The form implements compliance requirements under Florida Statute 287.087 and mandates that bidding organizations establish and maintain drug-free workplace policies. Vendors must certify that they publish statements prohibiting unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensing, possession, or use of controlled substances in the workplace; inform employees about drug abuse dangers and available counseling and rehabilitation programs; provide copies of drug-free workplace statements to all employees engaged in the contract work; require employees to notify employers of drug-related convictions within five days; and implement sanctions or require participation in rehabilitation programs for employees convicted of drug violations. The certification must be signed by an authorized company representative and dated.
This mandatory compliance document serves as a prerequisite to contract award for the Cold Weather Shelter Partnerships opportunity, which involves a partnership with qualified 501(c)(3) organizations, faith-based organizations, shelters, or community service providers to provide emergency shelter during the 2026 cold weather season with a project budget of $175,000. Vendors must demonstrate good standing with the State of Florida and operate at locations with capacity for a minimum of 15 nights of shelter services throughout the cold weather season. The Drug-Free Workplace Form does not contain specific pricing information or renewal terms but represents a standard contractual compliance requirement for all prospective bidders on this Hillsborough County opportunity.
