About this file
This is a Drug-Free Workplace Certification Form required by Florida Statute 287.087 for the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners' revenue contract for the sale and removal of finished compost from the Hillsborough County Composting Facility. The form mandates that vendors bidding on this five-year contract, with an estimated value of $1,020,000.00, certify compliance with drug-free workplace requirements by publishing statements to employees prohibiting unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensing, possession, or use of controlled substances in the workplace and specifying disciplinary actions for violations.
Vendors must inform employees about the dangers of drug abuse, the company's drug-free workplace policy, available counseling and rehabilitation programs, and penalties for violations. Each employee engaged in providing the commodities or services under bid must receive a copy of the workplace statement and acknowledge their commitment to comply with its terms. Additionally, vendors must implement sanctions or require participation in drug abuse assistance programs for convicted employees and maintain good-faith efforts to sustain a drug-free workplace. The authorized representative of the offeror must sign and date the certification form as a condition of bid submission.
