DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY (DHS)

Statement of Work (SOW) For Facility HVAC – VAV 3-Way valve repair

1.0 GENERAL

1.1 BACKGROUND

Variable air volume (VAV) systems enable energy-efficient HVAC system distribution by optimizing the amount and temperature of distributed air within a facility. When not functioning, the temperature and air flow cannot be properly regulated, often time leaving a particular workspace too uncomfortable to work in.

The defective VAV Valves/ Actuators have been identified and replacing them is beyond the scope of expertise of our staff. We would require an HVAC professional to replace the defective valves and recalibrate the HVAC system’s controls so monitoring, and controls can be restored.

1.2 SCOPE

The scope of the project consists of several parts as outlined below:

· Set up and coordinate for system shutdown.

· Arrive onsite and shut down the heating loop to repair valves.

· Drain down the heating loop so we can cut out valves and install new three-way and isolation valves.

· Furnish and install (3) new 3-way mixing valve on VAV T12, VAV T11 and VAV T16.

· Furnish and install (9) new unions to replace leaking ones.

· Furnish and install (2) new isolation valves.

· Furnish and install necessary pipe and fittings for the above.

· Recharge/fill the system and purge any air.

· Check work for any leaks and confirm system is in good working condition.

· Repair of any additional leaks that stem from the shutdown is not included.

· Cleanup and removal of our debris.

1.3 OBJECTIVE

The desired goal of the project is to have a completely functional and controllable HVAC system within the facility that can be monitored and electronically altered to ensure the comfortable working environment for the MERS staff within the facility.
