The contractor shall provide MacGregor OEM-authorized technicians to inspect, measure, document, and operationally test both anchor windlasses (W1 Starboard and W2 Port) located on the Forward Mooring Deck at 01 Level, Frame 10. Specific work requirements include inspecting brake bands using OEM measurement criteria; measuring and documenting brake lining thickness, wear, clearances, and holding capability; verifying brake air gaps and emergency planetary gear pin operation; inspecting gear cases, gypsy wheels, clutches, and associated hardware for deficiencies; verifying all windlass functions; measuring E-motor brake air gaps; inspecting electrical components and controls; lubricating moving components; inspecting foundations and mounting hardware; and verifying emergency release and brake system operation. The contractor must conduct operational testing of both windlasses while the vessel is in port, verify satisfactory operation in all available operating modes permissible pier side, and test brake holding capability and emergency release functionality to the maximum extent possible. The contractor shall furnish all labor, OEM services, testing equipment, lubricants, and incidental materials. Quality assurance requires OEM-authorized technicians to perform all work, provide written certification that brake bands are satisfactory for continued service until the next scheduled yard period, and have operational testing witnessed by Ship's Force and MSC representatives. Documentation deliverables include a final OEM service report with all inspection measurements, wear readings, test results, and certification statements, plus a detailed out brief with the vessel Master and Chief Engineer. Any deficiencies outside the scope shall be documented via Condition Found Report (CFR). The contractor must coordinate all work with Ship's Force and MSC representatives, comply with shipboard safety and environmental requirements, and ensure both anchor windlasses are verified operational prior to final acceptance.
