About this file

This is a Performance Work Statement for Fire & Emergency Services Joint Region Marianas requesting the supply of NFPA 1975-compliant flame-resistant uniforms. The requirement encompasses 300 NOMEX IIIA Industrial Pants and 300 Short Sleeve Shirts in 4.5 oz. NOMEX IIIA fabric, with specific quantities by size and fit type (including men's and women's sizes). The pants are available in various waist and inseam combinations ranging from 30x30 to 50x32, while shirts are offered in sizes 36 through 54 regular and women's sizes 30 through 54.

Technical specifications require the industrial pants to be constructed from 7.5 oz. Nomex IIIA fabric with autoclaved permanent creases, solid brass hardware, triple-felled stitching, and a looser fit through thighs and seat. Short sleeve shirts must be made of durable, flame-resistant Nomex IIIA fabric with autoclaved creases, extra-long shirt tails, two breast pockets with hook-and-loop flaps, shoulder epaulets with Melamine buttons, and five sewn-in military creases. Both garments must be navy blue and certified to NFPA 1975 station uniform standards. Delivery is required within 120 calendar days after award to Building 1300 Camp Blaz, Forager Road, Dededo, Guam 96915. Quality assurance standards require contractor-maintained quality control with items individually folded, packaged by garment type and size, and clearly labeled on exterior cartons. Inspection occurs at destination and acceptance is based on quantity, material compliance, correct sizing, workmanship, and packaging. Rejected items must be replaced at no additional cost.

Fire & Emergency Services Joint Region Marianas

Performance Work Statement

1. Background

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) technical committee on Protective Equipment for Firefighters began work on NFPA 1975 in response to requests from the fire service to establish requirements for flame-resistant station uniform clothing. NFPA 1975 is the standard that sets requirements for flame-resistant work apparel for emergency services personnel. Fire & Emergency Services Joint Region Marianas has adopted the NFPA 1975 standard and established a Standard Operating Procedure for station wear.
