About this file
This is a Domestic Partnership Act Certification form from Broward County, Florida, related to the Vehicle and Equipment Appraisal Services contract opportunity. The form is required for vendors submitting bids for the open-end contract to provide appraisal services for vehicle and equipment damages for Broward County Fleet Services Division and other county agencies. All licensed appraisers working on behalf of the contractor must have a minimum of five years' experience in automobile, truck, or equipment appraisals, and bidders must provide the names, qualifications, certifications, and licenses of assigned appraisers in their proposals.
The Domestic Partnership Act applies to contracts over $100,000 and requires vendors to provide benefits to registered domestic partners of their employees on the same basis as spousal benefits, with certain exceptions available for small employers (fewer than 5 employees), governmental entities, religious organizations, or those that don't provide spousal benefits. Vendors must certify their compliance status by checking one of several boxes indicating current compliance, future compliance at contract award, non-compliance, or qualification for an exception. The completed form must be returned with the vendor's submittal to avoid being deemed nonresponsive, and early submission is required for eligibility for the Domestic Partnership tiebreaker preference.
