About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by Cobb County School District (CCSD) in Marietta, Georgia, seeking high-quality core instructional resources for Astronomy instruction in grades 9–12. The district is the second-largest school system in Georgia and the 23rd largest in the United States, serving over 103,000 students across 112 schools, including 17 high schools. CCSD seeks print, digital, and open educational resources (OER) that align with the Science Georgia Standards of Excellence. Providers may submit resources for single or multiple grade levels and must submit separate proposals for each distinct set of materials. The RFI was issued on November 18, 2025, with written questions due by December 1, 2025, at 10:00 AM ET, and RFI responses due by December 9, 2025, at 3:00 PM ET. Physical and digital samples must be submitted by January 12, 2026, at 2:00 PM ET, with digital access maintained through January 30, 2026. All submissions must be made through the CCSD Euna Procurement Interactive Portal. Potential providers may be invited to interview during the evaluation period for clarification purposes. Information gathered through this RFI may inform a potential future RFP or district pilot for the 2026–2027 implementation cycle, although this RFI does not bind CCSD to any future solicitation or provide any competitive advantage to responding providers.

Responses will be evaluated based on completeness, instructional alignment, accessibility, and compatibility with district systems. Providers must address alignment with CCSD's mission and vision, connections between astronomical concepts and physics, mathematics, and earth science, direct support of the Astronomy Science Georgia Standards of Excellence, and evidence of improved student understanding in physical science disciplines. Materials must demonstrate higher-order thinking skills, quality content, age-appropriate design, and absence of bias relative to race, gender, religion, culture, ethnicity, disability, political, and socioeconomic status. For digital materials, providers must address alignment with the district's digital learning environment, compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1 or higher), integration with Single Sign-On through Microsoft Entra ID or Clever SSO, IMS Global OneRoster standards for student information system integration, and FERPA and COPPA compliance. Physical sample submissions require two teacher editions and two student editions mailed to Kevin Long at the CCSD Textbook Warehouse. No pricing information, contract terms, set-asides, or funding amounts are specified in this RFI, as the document is purely informational and intended to gather provider information for potential future procurement.
