5 Contractor Responsibilities Visit and examine the site before bidding. Verify dimensions, quantities, access, staging, overhead constraints, surface conditions, and conflicts that can reasonably be observed.

Before excavation, contact JULIE and coordinate utility markings. Protect marked and visible utilities. Use hand excavation where required and immediately report conflicts.

Provide a project schedule, sequencing plan, site logistics plan, and emergency contact before mobilization.

Provide temporary fencing, barricades, signs, pedestrian detours, and traffic control necessary to keep the public outside work zones. Maintain ADA-compliant routes where required by the City.

Protect existing trees, the evergreen holiday tree, paths, retaining walls, signs, utilities, landscaping, and adjacent property designated to remain. Repair contractor-caused damage at no additional cost.

Manage dust, mud, noise, runoff, and debris. Do not stockpile excavated soil or demolition debris outside City-approved areas.

Remove waste lawfully. No burning or on-site burial is permitted. Provide disposal tickets or documentation when requested.

Use qualified personnel and manufacturer-authorized methods. Comply with applicable OSHA requirements and all federal, state, and local laws.

6 Installation and Quality Requirements Layout: Stake all work and receive City approval of locations before removals, excavation, concrete placement, planting, or anchoring. City review does not relieve the contractor from responsibility for measurements or compliance.

Earthwork: Keep excavation within approved limits. Compact aggregate base in lifts to a stable, uniform surface. Remove unsuitable material only after notifying the City. Do not conceal unexpected soil, debris, utilities, or environmental conditions.

Concrete and anchorage: Coordinate footings, pads, inserts, templates, reinforcement, curing, finish, and tolerances with approved shop drawings and manufacturer instructions. Do not place concrete on frozen, saturated, or unstable subgrade.

Furnishings: Use suitable lifting equipment and protect finished surfaces. Set units plumb, level, securely anchored, and aligned. Replace chipped, cracked, stained, or otherwise damaged units.

Planting and lawn: Provide healthy, nursery-grade material. Prepare soil, water thoroughly, mulch uniformly, and maintain until acceptance. Sod shall be tightly fitted, rolled, watered, and free of gaps and settlement.

The City will include the controlling clauses and forms in the final solicitation and contract. Requirements may include, as applicable:
