About this file

This is a procurement document from West Valley City Public Works in Utah for contracted weed mowing services across multiple city locations in 2026. The project encompasses 39.8 total acres distributed across 13 mowing areas, including properties along roadways, detention basins, park strips, and right-of-way areas. The mowing areas range from 0.24 acres at 6562 S Afterglow to 16.68 acres at 3300 S Cultural Center Drive. The document specifies that the bid price per acre applies to a single cutting, with the expectation that multiple cuttings will be requested throughout the year at the same per-acre rate. Many of the locations feature steep slopes requiring careful attention to right-of-way and park strip maintenance. The city reserves the right at its sole discretion to award any or all listed locations, though the intent is to award the entire scope of work to a single contractor. The document includes detailed maps and site descriptions for each mowing area to facilitate accurate bidding.

The lowest responsible bidder will be required to execute a standard procurement agreement with West Valley City. Compensation is structured on a per-unit (per-acre) basis, with the contractor's quoted price applying uniformly across all cutting cycles throughout the year. The agreement requires contractors to maintain commercial general liability insurance with minimum limits of $3,000,000 per occurrence and $4,000,000 aggregate, along with all other legally required insurance. Payment terms, specific performance dates, and contract duration are to be completed during the contracting phase. The contractor assumes full responsibility for all costs associated with service delivery, including materials and labor, with no provision for additional compensation due to unforeseen circumstances. The city retains termination rights for convenience with payment due for work completed prior to termination notice.
