About this file
This is a re-solicitation notice issued by the Marion County Board of County Commissioners Procurement Services in Ocala, Florida, for traffic and cycle counter equipment. The County is seeking TRAX Apollyon traffic counters capable of collecting both bicycle and vehicle traffic data in a single integrated dataset, with compatibility to the existing TRAXPro software system used by the Office of the County Engineer for data processing and analysis. The re-solicitation notice was posted for a minimum of five business days from April 29, 2026, to May 6, 2026, in accordance with Florida Statute 287.057(3)(c) and the Marion County Procurement Manual. Vendors interested in providing comparable goods or services were required to submit supporting documentation during this posting period.
This notice represents a re-solicitation of an existing sole source designation held by Jamar Technologies, Inc., conducted in anticipation of Marion County's upcoming policy changes requiring sole source designations to be reviewed and re-solicited at minimum every five years. The purpose of the re-solicitation is to verify whether qualified alternative vendors exist who can provide equivalent products or services while maintaining competitive procurement principles. Should no qualified alternatives be identified during the posting period, the County may reaffirm the existing sole source designation with the incumbent provider. Inquiries regarding the procurement were directed to Carrisa Crawford, Procurement Services Director, at carrisa.crawford@marionfl.org.
