About this file

This is an Addendum 1 Question and Answer document related to the OAAA 2010 RTI Bridge Repair project in Colorado. The addendum addresses inquiries submitted by prospective bidders regarding the bridge repair project scope and contract requirements. The document clarifies technical specifications, project requirements, and bidding procedures in response to questions raised during the bidding process. The addendum serves to provide additional guidance to ensure all bidders have consistent information and understanding of the project deliverables and expectations prior to submitting their proposals.

The addendum contains clarifications on specific technical aspects, contractual terms, and project parameters that were not sufficiently detailed in the original solicitation documents. This supplemental information ensures transparency in the bidding process and allows prospective contractors to submit accurate and competitive proposals based on complete project understanding. The Q&A format allows the issuing agency to address common concerns and ambiguities that could otherwise result in non-responsive bids or protests.

ADDENDUM #1

PROJECT 082517

BID # IFB1 2027*0025

Ft Carson RTI Bridge Repair

Questions received from Contractors that attended the MANDATORY Pre-Bid Meeting:

1. What permits will the contractor be required to obtain?

• State electrical and plumbing permits to be provided by General Contractor.

2. If permits are required, will they be at no cost to the contractor?

• State electrical and plumbing permits to be provided by General Contractor.

3. Will the angle irons be the only structural steel item that will need to be painted?

• Yes

4. Is the scope for the lighting meant to completely replace the existing fixtures or just repair/replace as needed to match existing?

• The scope is to convert existing internals to LED and replace 6 pedestals marked on addendum.

5. They mentioned at the pre bid walk that they would like the handrails replaced as well.

There is no mention of this in the drawings. Can you please confirm if that is the case and if so would you like the metal railing to be sanded down and re-painted?

• Rails to be sanded as needed for paint adhesion then paint.

6. There was mention of a gasket between the aluminum decking and the steel angel/tubing that it will be installed on but it is not shown in the details. Is there a specification for this or is supposed to be a part of the LockDry system specified.

• Yes. A gasket is needed. LockDry details to be followed. Contact LockDry for specification and procurement. This is to prevent corrosion so no steel to aluminum contact is acceptable.
