About this file

This document is a technical specification section for aluminum-framed entrances and storefronts for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Building F Renovation project, dated 2025.05.16, prepared by JS&P Architects. The specification details requirements for storefront and entrance door systems, focusing on aluminum-framed components with specific performance standards including thermal efficiency, wind load resistance, and energy performance. The document outlines detailed technical requirements for materials, fabrication, installation, and finish of exterior windows and entrance systems, with a basis of design using Kawneer TriFab VersaGlaze 451T and TriFab 601T product lines.

The specification includes comprehensive performance requirements such as structural load testing, water penetration resistance, seismic performance, and energy efficiency metrics. Specific technical requirements include thermally broken exterior framing, high-performance organic finish, mechanical glazing with gaskets, and precise installation tolerances. The document specifies that manufacturers must provide energy performance certifications, with specific requirements for thermal transmittance (U-factor), solar heat-gain coefficient, air leakage, and condensation resistance. The project will require field quality control testing, including water-spray tests, air leakage measurements, and water penetration assessments to ensure compliance with specified performance standards.
