About this file

This document is a Bidder Questions and Answers document for the 2024 Asphalt Overlay project (Project No. 309001001-2024), likely for a municipal or county government in Colorado. The document addresses four key questions from potential bidders regarding the project, which appears to involve full depth reclamation (FDR) of road surfaces, asphalt overlay, and related infrastructure work. Specific areas of clarification include the addition of bid line items for subgrade preparation and construction surveying, the location of asphalt mat removal (specifically noted as the F-Lot Transit Area), and disposal responsibilities for removed concrete and asphalt materials.

The bidders' questions reveal that the contractor will be responsible for disposing of all concrete and asphalt materials generated during the project. In response to the bidders' inquiries, the project administrators have added two new line items to the Improvements Quantities: one for Subgrade Preparation and another for Construction Surveying. These additions provide more clarity and specificity to the bidding process, helping potential contractors better understand the scope of work and associated costs. The document demonstrates a transparent approach to addressing potential bidders' concerns and providing additional context for the upcoming infrastructure improvement project.

Can this line item be added to the bid form to cover this work?
