About this file

This Specifications/Scope of Work document outlines Dallas Fort Worth International Airport's requirements for an annual supply contract of pre-mixed and volumetric concrete. The Airport seeks a primary concrete supplier (not a subcontractor) who is an authorized manufacturer of the products offered. The contract encompasses 16 concrete product lines across various classes and specifications, including Class A (3000 PSI), Class C (4000 and 5000 PSI), Class K (3000 PSI in 6 hours), Class HES (3000 PSI in 6 hours, including cold temperature variant), and Class 0 (300-400 PSI), all available in both pre-mixed and volumetric truck delivery options. Additional miscellaneous fees include delivery charges for loads under 4 cubic yards and loads of 4 cubic yards or larger, standing time charges exceeding 30 minutes per cubic yard, evening and weekend callout fees with a 3-hour minimum, cancellation charges, and show-up fees. The contract term is five years, with all orders deliverable within 24 hours unless otherwise agreed, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Airport reserves the right to adjust volumes to meet actual operational requirements and does not guarantee minimum purchase quantities.

Pricing shall be quoted on a per-cubic-yard basis and must include all costs associated with transportation, fuel surcharges, freight charges, supervision, labor, overhead, and profit. Unit prices cannot be increased during the first contract year, though provisions for adjustments in renewal periods are referenced in the contract's Special Provisions. All concrete must comply with applicable specifications: Texas Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Construction and Maintenance of Highways, Street, and Bridges Item 360 for concrete used outside the airfield, and FAA Advisory Circular No. 150/5370-10H Part 7 for concrete used on the airfield. Delivery terms are F.O.B. Destination, Freight Prepaid and Allowed. The contractor must provide quarterly reporting on purchase history and appoint an account representative to assist with emerging needs and strategic initiatives at no additional charge. All products are warranted against defects in manufacture for twelve months beyond delivery and acceptance or the period customarily extended to governmental organizations, whichever is greater, with defective products replaced at no cost to the Airport.
