About this file

This is a Product Purchase Description for a federal supply acquisition submitted by the Sustainment Training Center's Medical Section.

The procurement seeks one Complete X-ray Tube Head Monoblock assembly (Part #A526046-01) with certified installation services for a Canon Medical Systems X-ray unit, serial number DLWD0280, valued at $46,997.39. The component is required to restore full functionality to an inoperable X-ray apparatus (End Item M45613, Model X05003) used for comprehensive medical training of 68X personnel in tactical environments. Due to strict FDA medical device regulations, proprietary digital firmware, and high-voltage radiation safety protocols, the component must be sourced exclusively through Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. or its certified medical distribution network. The selected vendor must supply a brand-new or OEM-certified factory-refurbished monoblock matching the system's internal hardware and cooling specifications, provide a Canon-certified Field Service Engineer to safely de-energize the system, discharge high-voltage components, extract the degraded assembly, and install the replacement unit. Additional vendor responsibilities include flashing and calibrating proprietary Canon software to recognize the new monoblock serial number and syncing filament heating/cooling curves, as well as coordinating the safe return of the depleted monoblock core under Canon's Core Exchange Program guidelines.

The procurement is classified under NAICS 334517 and PSC 6525, with an award deadline of August 2026 and a required delivery date of August 11, 2026. The X-ray system specifications include a high-frequency 300 kHz generator with 4 kW maximum power, kVp range of 40–125, mA range of 5–100, a stationary anode with dual focal spots (0.6 mm and 1.5 mm), 40,000 HU heat storage capacity, manual collimation with 360° rotation capability, and a system weight of approximately 81.5 kg excluding the detector.

What are you buying? Describe what you are buying, why you’re buying it, and what it is supposed to be able to accomplish.

Component of End Item M45613, Xray apparatus potable digital radiology X05003.

Purchasing replacement part and labor for the inoperable X-ray tube assembly. Once this component is installed by a certified technician, the system will return to full functionality, allowing STC to provide comprehensive medical training for 68X personnel operating in a tactical environment.

List the minimum and maximum specifications of the item you are buying below.

(What you need it to do) The objective of this procurement is to acquire an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) replacement X-ray Tube Head Monoblock assembly and secure certified technical installation services for a Canon Medical Systems X-ray unit, operating under system serial number DLWD0280.

Due to strict FDA medical device regulations, proprietary digital handshake firmware, and high-voltage radiation safety protocols, this project requires an exact-match OEM component sourced exclusively through Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. or its certified medical distribution network.

The selected vendor must perform the following technical and operational tasks:

Supply one (1) brand-new or OEM-certified factory-refurbished X-ray Tube Head Monoblock completely matching the internal hardware engineering and cooling stator specifications designated for serial number DLWD0280.

Provide a Canon-certified Field Service Engineer (FSE) to safely de-energize the imaging system, discharge the high-voltage grid, extract the degraded monoblock, and mount the new assembly to the system frame.

Last Revised: 06/06/2025

Flash, update, and calibrate the proprietary Canon system software to recognize the new monoblock serial number, sync the specific filament heating/cooling curves, and clear all baseline communication interlock errors.

Coordinate the safe extraction, tracking, and logistics required to return the depleted monoblock core to the manufacturer under the official Canon Core Exchange Program guidelines.
