LIST OF TABLEs Table 1: Mini-Drill Trailer Design Package 4
BACKGROUND
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is looking to acquire a design package for the transportation of a mini drill for FAA operations.
SCOPE
The FAA requires the design of two custom trailers that will be used to transport a mini-drill and all of its supporting equipment, supplies, and spare parts which will be procured under a separate procurement action. The design of these trailers will require a detailed understanding of the operation, transportation, and components of the mini-drill. The contractor shall deliver the design package described in Section 3.0 of this SOW. The design package specifications are listed in section 3.3.
TASKS
1.1. DESIGN PACKAGE
The FAA requires a design package comprised of, and considering, the following: Two (2) custom gooseneck trailers are required to support the transportation of a mini-drill. The deliverable shall include a detailed drawing package suitable for trailer fabrication by a third party. It is anticipated that the successful completion of the design package will require (but is not limited to) interactions with the following SMEs: drill manufacturers, drill operators, tooling manufacturers, trailer vendors to develop a concept design, as well as the government end user to ensure it meets Government enivormental considerations. The custom trailers will feature an innovative drill pipe handling system for transport and ground operations for use with smooth drill strings and hollow-stem augers. Specific accommodations will be provided for tooling, spares, fuel transport, security features and consumables transport such as lubricants, clamping pads and bits. The engineering for taking the concept design to final design will fine tune weight distribution, tie-downs, and loading/off-loading considerations. Included in the design package will be a market research report that estimates the cost associated with the fabrication of the two custom trailers along with a list of qualified potential vendors/fabricators. Additionally, the design package shall include the specifications of the vehicles that will be appropriate to safely tow the two trailers when fully loaded along with a market research report outlining potential vendors and estimated cost.
1.2. DOCUMENT LIST
The Contractor shall provide an initial document list of all items in the design package to the COR and Technical POC. The Contractor shall, also, include a copy of the document list with the delivered design package and a copy of the document list to the COR.
DELIVERABLES AND DELIVERY SCHEDULE
The Contractor shall deliver the design package within 90 calendar days of award.
