About this file

This is a Section 011000 Summary of Work specification document for Camden County School District's construction project in Georgia. The project involves the construction of a new 103,987-square-foot indoor practice facility for Valdosta High School located at 6300 Laurel Island Parkway, Kingsland, Georgia 31548. The facility will include one owner-furnished synthetic turf field, supporting storage and restroom spaces, an outdoor athletics track and field, and associated site development including driveways, walkways, and stormwater retention improvements. The work will be conducted under a single prime contract and single construction phase. The project architect is Altman + Barrett Architects, with design consultants including PFA Engineering for mechanical and plumbing systems, Electrical Design Consultants for electrical work, Lindsey & Ritter Inc. for structural design, and Carter Engineering Group for civil engineering. The Owner's Representative is Gerald Fegal, Director of Maintenance and Facilities for Camden County School District.

The specification establishes that contractors must limit site use to designated contract areas, maintain weathertight conditions in affected portions of existing buildings, and repair any construction-related damage. Work in existing buildings is restricted to normal business hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with contractors required to provide at least 72 hours' notice before activities affecting Owner operations. Contractors must notify the Architect and Owner at least ten days in advance of proposed utility interruptions and two days in advance of operations generating high noise, vibration, or odors. The project prohibits use of tobacco and controlled substances on-site and requires contractor personnel to wear identification tags at all times. The Owner will occupy the premises during construction except in areas under active construction, requiring contractors to maintain access to existing walkways and facilities while minimizing conflicts with ongoing school operations.
