About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details a design/build HVAC repair project for Building 1510 at Shaw Air Force Base. The project involves demolishing existing HVAC equipment, including an air handler unit, hot water coils, boiler, and domestic water heater, and installing new components based on the existing chiller. The new work includes a 25-ton air handling unit, hot water coils, isolation valves, an air separator, buffer tank, gas-fired boilers for HVAC and domestic hot water, and associated piping and controls.
The project has a comprehensive design phase spanning 112 calendar days, with 35%, 65%, and 95% design submissions required, each with specific review periods. Construction is scheduled for 90 calendar days, beginning after 95% design approval and with all materials on-site. Key requirements include utilizing existing electrical infrastructure, installing DDC controls, ensuring maintenance accessibility, and completing a test and balance of the system in summer and winter conditions. The contractor must coordinate with base personnel, manage utility outages, and follow strict debris disposal and reporting guidelines.
