About this file

This is a specifications exhibit for the ESB Juntura Tree Removal and Tree Planting Project administered by the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT). The project involves the removal of eight trees with diameters ranging from 40 to 68 inches, complete stump removal with grinding to a depth of 8 inches, debris disposal, and the planting of replacement trees consisting of Northern Red Oak (Quercus Rubra) and Red Sunset Maple (Acer rubrum 'Franksred') trees spaced 30 feet apart. All work must be performed between September 1, 2026, and November 30, 2026, with tree removal completion required by November 12, 2026, and planting completion by November 30, 2026. No work may be performed on weekends or state-observed holidays. The project is located on state-owned property, and ODOT will provide all required traffic control. Teresa Bock serves as the Project Manager and point of contact for the contract.

The contractor is responsible for all felling, removal, chipping, and disposal operations, and assumes full liability for damage to private property, guardrails, utility lines, or electrical infrastructure. Tree felling may be accomplished through bulldozer, winches, or chainsaw methods, subject to Project Manager approval. The contractor must protect all existing trees not designated for removal and comply with Section 01040-Planting of the 2021 Standard Specifications. Measurement and payment are based on lump sum mobilization and individual units removed and planted. Plant materials must meet a minimum caliper of 2.5 inches, and the contract excludes partial payments and plant establishment periods.
