Salient Characteristics

100 FSS Human Remains Insulated Transfer Cases

1.1 Mission: The primary mission of 100th Force Support Squadron Mortuary Team is to support mortuary operations for RAF Mildenhall and Geographically Separated Units (GSUs) across USAFE.

1.2 Background: The current mortuary insulated human remains transfer cases have been deemed inoperable and require replacement.

1.3 Scope: Scope of work encompasses the supply and delivery of the 8 (EA) insulated human remains transfer cases that meet the following specifications. The contractor must provide all materials, transportation and personnel required to meet this requirement.

2.0 Product Specifications

The transfer cases are identified under NSN: 9930-01-581-5643

The cases must meet the following key specifications:

• Must be constructed primarily of a lightweight but durable material such as aluminum to ensure integrity during cargo movement

• Must be insulated with an integrated temperature sensor

• Must possess a drain port

• Must have an external sturdy but transparent document holder

• Must have an external RFID tag bracket

• Dimensions must be suitable to fit most human remains.

3.0 Shipping Instructions

Cases are for final shipment to 3 different locations.

All shipping and transit costs must be included as part of the total purchase price submitted to the Government (vendor to include shipping costs in the costs of the items).

US based vendors

• Shipping shall be FOB destination to DLA New Cumberland

• The cases must be appropriately divided to be onward shipped by DLA to the final destination. (3 cases for RAF Mildenhall, 2 cases for Stavanger Norway and 3 cases for RAF Akrotiri Cyprus)

• Military shipping labels will be provided for the shipments.

UK based vendors

• Shipping shall be FOB destination.

• Provide commercial shipping direct to the below locations (see solicitation for full address details)

- 3 (EA) cases for final shipment destination RAF Mildenhall, England

- 2 (EA) cases for final shipment destination Stavanger Air Base, Norway

- 3 (EA) cases for final shipment destination RAF Akrotiri, Cyprus
