About this file
This is a Request for Bid (RFB) form issued by the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) for an on-call Region 2 paving work order. The project involves shoulder grading and paving on Interstate 5 southbound between mileposts 234.56 and 234.95 in Linn County. The work requires regrading the shoulder and applying a single 3-inch lift of asphalt concrete pavement to create a 13-foot paved shoulder, expanding from the current 11-foot width. The anticipated work items include mobilization (1 lump sum), temporary work zone traffic control (1 lump sum), Level 3, 1/2-inch dense asphalt concrete pavement mixture (70 tons), and aggregate base (100 tons). The bid is due by August 10, 2023, at 11:00 AM, with a required completion date of September 30, 2023. The project limits are marked with pink paint and extend approximately 1,900 feet between two existing guardrail runs. Traffic lane closures are permitted Sunday through Thursday between 9:00 PM and 5:00 AM, with portable changeable message signs required at least three days in advance. Compaction testing is not required for this project.
Contractors must submit completed bid forms with unit and total prices for applicable items, along with company information and a signature indicating a firm offer to perform the work. Payment will be made based on actual quantities provided and performed. The project is subject to Oregon prevailing wage rates effective July 5, 2023, as published by the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries. ODOT Project Manager Mike Metz (503-509-0015, michael.metz@odot.oregon.gov) will oversee the work. Successful contractors must hold a valid CCB number and reference their On-Call Region 2 Paving Price Agreement number. The work order becomes effective only upon ODOT's Procurement Authority signature and issuance of a notice to proceed.
