GovTribe

Manage connected tools

Connect Google and Microsoft tools to GovTribe AI, control which tools are active in chats, and request a custom connector from GovTribe.

Click Connectors, or open GovTribe AI and use the plug button in the composer, Manage Connectors, or Settings > Connectors.

Connected tools appear when external connector access is enabled for your account. Use them when GovTribe AI should work with files, email, calendars, chats, or documents outside GovTribe as part of a conversation or automation.

Open Connected Tools

You can reach the same connector workspace from several places in GovTribe AI.

Starting pointWhat it opens
Composer plug buttonOpens the connected-tools popover for the current chat so you can turn connected tools on or off quickly.
Manage Connectors in the popoverOpens the full Connected Tools window.
Settings > ConnectorsOpens the same full Connected Tools window from the GovTribe AI sidebar settings menu.
ConnectorsOpens GovTribe AI and brings up the full Connected Tools window directly.

Connect an official tool

Official tools appear under GovTribe App Store in the Connected Tools window.

Open Connected Tools. Use any entry point above to open the connector window.

Choose a tool. Review the available cards in GovTribe App Store, then select Connect on the tool you want GovTribe AI to use.

Finish the provider sign-in. GovTribe opens a sign-in window or tab for the provider. Complete the provider sign-in and allow the requested access.

Return to GovTribe AI. After the connection succeeds, the tool shows as connected and is ready for GovTribe AI conversations and automations.

Newly connected tools are turned on for future chats by default. If you do not want a connected tool active, turn it off from the composer plug menu before sending the prompt.

Turn tools on or off for a chat

The composer plug button shows only the tools that are already connected for your account in that workspace. Use the switches in that popover to decide which connected tools GovTribe AI may use in the current chat.

The plug button shows a count badge when one or more tools are active. GovTribe remembers the enabled-tool selection for that workspace until you change it.

Automations use the same connected-tool catalog. If an automation should use a connected tool, make sure the tool is connected before you save or run the automation. For the automation workflow, see Automations.

Current official tools

The current official GovTribe App Store list includes these tools:

ToolWhat GovTribe AI can use it for
SharePointSearch and pull from shared sites and OneDrive.
Microsoft TeamsLook up chats and messages.
Outlook CalendarLook up events and availability.
Outlook EmailSearch and reference Outlook email.
GmailFind and reference emails from your inbox.
Google CalendarLook up events and availability.
Google DriveWork with Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.

The exact list in your workspace can change when GovTribe adds or configures additional tools.

Request a custom connector

If the official tool list does not cover the system you need, use Add connector from the Connected Tools window.

When self-serve custom connector setup is not enabled for your account, Add connector opens a Contact Sales form instead of a setup form. Submit that request to ask GovTribe about adding a custom connector for your workspace.

If GovTribe adds a custom connector for your workspace, it appears in the Workspace connectors section of the connector window. Workspace connectors can be disconnected like official tools, and uninstalling one removes it from the workspace for everyone.

Common questions

Why do I not see any tools to connect?

Connected tools only appear when external connector access is enabled for your account and GovTribe has configured at least one available tool for your workspace.

Why did GovTribe open a separate sign-in window?

GovTribe completes provider authorization in a separate browser window or tab. If the sign-in window does not open, allow pop-ups for GovTribe and try the connection again.

Why is a connected tool not being used in my chat?

Make sure the tool is still connected and turned on in the composer plug menu before you send the message. A tool can already be connected for your account but still turned off for the current chat.
