UNSPSC 73181310: Vacuum quench and temper heat treat service

UNSPSC 73181310 Vacuum quench and temper heat treat service is a Commodity code that shows minimal relevant recent activity in state and local procurement. The single recent opportunity posted under this code—the City of DeBary, Florida's Rob Sullivan Park Irrigation Improvements project (Bid 03-15)—involves irrigation system installation and controller upgrades, which falls outside the scope of heat treatment services that the code nominally describes. State and local procurement offices appear to apply this code infrequently or misalign solicitations with its actual taxonomy definition, limiting visibility into genuine demand for vacuum quench and temper heat treatment work.

The mismatch between the code's scope and the DeBary irrigation project signals that this Commodity code does not currently reflect active state and local purchasing for heat treatment services. The absence of additional recent opportunities under 73181310 suggests either that heat treatment work is rare in state and local procurement, is tagged under different UNSPSC codes, or that the code's application is inconsistent. Business development professionals should verify whether target customers in their geography use alternative codes for heat treatment work or pursue opportunities through direct outreach to manufacturing, utilities, or equipment refurbishment programs rather than relying on keyword searches under this Commodity code.
