UNSPSC 73181302: Annealing services

UNSPSC 73181302 Annealing services, a Commodity code, does not reflect the work actually being solicited under it in recent state and local procurement activity. The single recent opportunity tagged to this code — the City of DeBary, Florida's Rob Sullivan Park Irrigation Improvements project — involves the design, procurement, and installation of a Hunter brand irrigation control system and related piping and components within an operational municipal park. The project scope includes system integration with existing underground infrastructure, operational testing, and flow verification, with no relevance to annealing (the thermal treatment of metals or alloys to alter their physical properties). This tagging mismatch suggests the code carries little genuine procurement activity aligned with its nominal definition, or that the issuing body misapplied the taxonomy.

The City of DeBary posted this opportunity on April 13, 2026, as a competitive bid with an engineer's estimate of $90,000 and a mandatory pre-bid conference held on March 25, 2015 (note: the posted date and pre-bid date create a chronological inconsistency in the source). The bid submission deadline was April 10, 2015, at 10:00 AM. No other recent state or local solicitations under this code appear in the available record, indicating minimal current procurement activity under UNSPSC 73181302 outside this single, unrelated irrigation project.
