UNSPSC 73181123: Zinc with top coat barrel coating service

Zinc coating applied to parts with and additional coating applied subsequently

UNSPSC 73181123 Zinc with top coat barrel coating service (Commodity) shows minimal relevant recent state and local activity; the posted opportunities under this code involve irrigation system installation, stormwater equipment demolition, and HVAC system replacement—work that does not substantively align with barrel coating services. The City of DeBary, Florida solicited an RFQ for Rob Sullivan Park irrigation improvements (due April 10, 2015) involving Hunter controller and piping installation at an estimated project cost of $90,000, while the City of Ocala issued an ITB for demolition of stormwater treatment equipment (due April 2, 2026) and the State of Georgia Department of Driver Services released RFQs for HVAC system replacements at two customer service centers in Brunswick and Douglas (both due March 3, 2026). None of these procurements involve coating, plating, or surface-treatment work typical of the commodity code's nominal scope.

Geographic activity appears scattered across Florida and Georgia, but the mismatch between the code label and actual work being solicited suggests either miscoding by the issuing bodies or that this commodity code does not currently reflect active state and local procurement in surface treatment. Without recent opportunities that genuinely involve zinc coating or barrel coating services, the code presents limited signal for business development pursuit at this time.
