UNSPSC 73181119: Powdercoat coating service

UNSPSC 73181119 Powdercoat coating service is a Commodity code, but the recent opportunities posted under it show no powdercoat coating work. Instead, the code appears tagged on irrigation improvements, stormwater equipment demolition, and HVAC system replacement projects—work fundamentally unrelated to protective surface coating services. The mismatch suggests either systematic miscoding in state and local procurement systems or that this particular code does not reflect current market activity for powdercoat coating services among state agencies, counties, cities, and special-purpose districts. Based on the available recent solicitation records, there is no actionable procurement activity under this code for contractors specializing in powdercoat coating.

The three opportunities that do carry the 73181119 tag—Rob Sullivan Park Irrigation Improvements (City of DeBary, Florida, IFB, due April 10, 2015), Tuscawilla Alum Treatment System Removal (City of Ocala through Marion County, Florida, ITB ENG/260395, due April 2, 2026), and HVAC system replacement projects at Brunswick and Douglas Customer Service Centers (Georgia Department of Driver Services, eRFQ, due March 3, 2026)—represent construction, demolition, and mechanical systems work with no coating scope. Prospective bidders should verify the correct UNSPSC classification with issuing bodies or pursue opportunities under codes specific to coatings or surface treatment services rather than relying on this code's current tagging.
