UNSPSC 73181112: Teflon coating service

UNSPSC 73181112 Teflon coating service (Commodity) shows no relevant recent state and local procurement activity. The two opportunities posted under this code in Florida — Rob Sullivan Park irrigation system installation by the City of DeBary and Tuscawilla Alum Treatment System removal by the City of Ocala — involve mechanical equipment installation and demolition rather than Teflon coating or surface treatment work. The irrigation project (Bid 03-15, IFB, $90,000 Engineer's estimate, due April 10, 2015) calls for Hunter irrigation controller and valve installation with related piping, and the alum treatment system removal (ITB ENG/260395, due April 2, 2026) requires stormwater equipment demolition and hauling. Neither procurement involves coating services or Teflon application, suggesting a coding mismatch between the UNSPSC category and actual work being procured.

No recent state and local opportunities under this code match the Teflon coating service scope. Business development professionals should verify whether this code is active in their target markets through direct procurement office outreach or consider whether related coating or surface-finishing commodities (such as industrial coating services or corrosion-resistant treatments) may be tagged under different UNSPSC codes in their regions of focus.
