UNSPSC 55111516: Internet based television or motion picture program

Video production exclusively available on the web

UNSPSC 55111516 Internet based television or motion picture program is a Commodity code with little relevant recent state and local procurement activity. The code nominally addresses subscription-based streaming or on-demand video services, but the recent opportunities tagged under it—including healthcare workforce platforms, data analyst software, broadband connectivity, graphics design, cybersecurity services, bridge construction, corrections facility security, intranet development, student data systems, airport tower construction, fleet safety systems, and various telecommunications and internet services—are unrelated to video or motion picture content. State and local bodies appear to use this code inconsistently or incorrectly when tagging technology and infrastructure procurements that fall squarely within networking, software licensing, and facility construction categories. The mismatch between the code's nominal scope and actual opportunities makes it a poor indicator of video streaming or media procurement activity.

Skip this code. The tagged opportunities reflect cataloging error or category misapplication rather than authentic demand for internet-based television or motion picture programs. Focus business development resources on opportunities properly tagged to their actual commodity families—telecom services under codes addressing connectivity, software subscriptions under IT services codes, and construction under facility codes—rather than pursuing this category.
