UNSPSC 53112100: Overshoes

UNSPSC 53112100 Overshoes, a Class code, covers protective footwear designed to be worn over regular shoes — including slip-on and fastened styles in materials ranging from rubber and vinyl to fabric and leather. State and local governments procure overshoes primarily for field personnel in public works, utilities, environmental response, and law enforcement who require foot protection during operations in wet, contaminated, or hazardous environments. The buying extends across state departments, county maintenance and public health agencies, city public works divisions, and special-purpose districts managing water, wastewater, and utility infrastructure.

The source provides no recent state and local contract opportunities tagged to this code. Without posted RFPs, RFQs, IBFs, or ITBs to characterize current geographic activity or issuing-body focus, concrete market signals cannot be drawn. Buyers in this commodity typically source through standing cooperative purchasing agreements, blanket orders, or small-dollar spot buys that may not generate formal solicitation notices, which may explain the absence of recent posted opportunities under the code.
