UNSPSC 44102404: Label applying machines

UNSPSC 44102404 Label applying machines, a Commodity code, covers the procurement of automated or manual equipment that applies labels to products, packages, containers, or other items during manufacturing, packaging, or distribution workflows. State and local governments buy label applicators primarily through corrections departments (for inmate work-program manufacturing), public utilities (for asset tagging and inventory management), transit authorities (for vehicle and equipment labeling), and school districts (for supply chain and asset tracking). The equipment ranges from handheld labeling guns and pressure-sensitive applicators to semi-automated or fully automated line-mounted systems, depending on the jurisdiction's operational scale and production volume.

The source provided contains no recent state and local contract opportunities under this code. Without posted solicitations or awarded contracts to reference, no characterization of geographic concentration, issuing-body prevalence, or representative recent activity can be drawn. This silence may indicate limited state and local procurement activity in this category, a mismatch between how issuing bodies tag label-applicator purchases and the UNSPSC taxonomy, or both. Firms pursuing this code should monitor cooperative purchasing platforms and state procurement portals directly for future postings and confirm that their target jurisdictions' existing label-applicator contracts or leases are not locked in under long-term agreements.
