UNSPSC 31261701: Machine noise control housing

UNSPSC 31261701 Machine noise control housing is a Commodity code representing specialized acoustic enclosures and sound-dampening housings for industrial and commercial equipment. State and local governments procure these products primarily through school districts, municipal facilities, and county maintenance operations seeking to control noise from HVAC systems, generators, compressors, and other mechanical equipment in educational and administrative buildings. The work involves selecting vendors who stock or can supply pre-fabricated or custom noise-control housings meeting acoustic performance specifications, with pricing typically negotiated through catalog discounts or fixed unit rates.

The recent opportunities block shows limited activity directly aligned with this code's scope. Donna Independent School District in Cameron County, Texas, issued RFP 011326-874 on March 21, 2026, for a General Hardware & Lumber Supplies catalog bid with response due April 8, 2026, but the procurement's emphasis on structural materials, fasteners, hand tools, and power tools reflects broader facility maintenance supply rather than specialized noise-control products. No other recent state or local solicitations in the source block specifically name machine noise control housing or acoustic enclosures. This code shows minimal recent activity in state and local procurement, and the single named opportunity does not appear to prioritize the product category.
