UNSPSC 31162215: Tubular rivet

A type of rivet consisting of a shaft and head being completely hollow lengthwise forming a tubular structure.

UNSPSC 31162215 Tubular rivet (Commodity) covers fastening hardware—specifically tubular rivets—that state and local governments procure for maintenance, repair, and construction work across facilities, equipment, and infrastructure. The code appears in solicitations primarily from state departments of transportation, public works agencies, and facilities maintenance operations, where tubular rivets serve as permanent fasteners in metal fabrication, automotive repair, and structural assembly work. These are typically purchased as components within larger material packages or as standalone supplies for in-house maintenance shops and capital projects.

The available source material contains no recent state and local contract opportunities tagged to this code. Without posted solicitations, geographic concentration and issuing-body patterns cannot be characterized from current procurement activity. Firms pursuing this commodity should monitor state DOT and public works RFQ and IFB notices, cooperative purchasing vehicles serving multiple jurisdictions, and facilities maintenance contracts where fastening hardware is itemized separately, as procurement visibility for narrow commodity codes often depends on the broader solicitation context rather than dedicated postings.
