UNSPSC 26111513: Power transmission chains

UNSPSC 26111513 Power transmission chains is a Commodity code that, based on recent state and local solicitation activity, appears disconnected from its nominal scope. The two most recent opportunities posted under this code—a RFEI from the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County for design-build-operate-maintain services on a mass-burn waste-to-energy facility (posted September 11, 2026) and an ITB from DeKalb County for IT and low-voltage infrastructure installation at a tennis center (posted June 9, 2026)—bear no substantive relationship to power transmission chains, their procurement, or their installation. Neither solicitation involves mechanical power transmission equipment, chain assemblies, or related components; both are large-scale capital projects with entirely different material and labor scopes.

The code shows little relevant recent activity aligned with its actual commodity definition. State and local procurement offices do not appear to be using UNSPSC 26111513 for power transmission chain procurement at present, or the recent tagging reflects systematic miscoding in the source database. Business development professionals evaluating this code should treat the posted opportunities as noise and recognize that pursuing the two named solicitations would require capabilities (waste-to-energy facility management and IT infrastructure) wholly outside the power transmission chain supplier role.
