UNSPSC 26111503: Mechanical adjustable speed drive

UNSPSC 26111503 Mechanical adjustable speed drive is a Commodity code covering variable-frequency drives, soft starters, and adjustable-speed motor controllers used in HVAC, industrial process, and facility systems. State and local procurement under this code centers on replacement and upgrade work for motor-driven equipment in municipal buildings, water and wastewater treatment facilities, transit maintenance shops, and public utilities. Issuing bodies soliciting under the code include county departments, city public works and facilities divisions, and special-purpose water and transit districts. The recent opportunities block shows limited activity under this specific code — a single recent posting does not establish a clear pattern of issuing-body or product-mix concentration.

The single recent solicitation on file, DeKalb County's ITB 2026-076-ITB for reconstruction of the DeKalb Tennis Center (due July 13, 2026), does not align with the nominal scope of mechanical adjustable speed drives; the posting focuses on IT and low-voltage infrastructure installation rather than motor controls. The code shows little relevant recent activity in the state and local opportunities dataset, and business development professionals should verify whether mechanical drive procurement under this code is tagged and tracked at the state and local level, or whether direct vendor relationships and master service agreements dominate the buying pattern for this commodity.
