UNSPSC 23141608: Dehairing machine

A machine that removes unnecessary hair on the leather or textile product.

UNSPSC 23141608 Dehairing machine is a Commodity code that shows minimal alignment with recent state and local procurement activity. The one identified opportunity—Klein Independent School District's RFP #26-101 for Career Technical Education and Advanced Academics instructional resources, posted April 17, 2026 with proposals due June 5, 2026—solicits classroom materials, equipment, software, textbooks, and support services across 17 CTE program areas including barbering and cosmetology, welding, and manufacturing, but does not reference dehairing machinery or animal-processing equipment. The mismatch between the code's nominal scope and the actual procurement suggests either a tagging error by the issuing body or that dehairing machines do not currently generate substantive state and local contract activity.

Klein ISD, located in Harris County, Texas, represents the only recent opportunity captured under this code. The district encourages HUB, MWBE, SBE, veteran-owned, and labor surplus area vendors; requires $1,000,000 minimum general liability and workers' compensation coverage; and structures the award as firm fixed-price contracts with four optional one-year renewals following an initial September 1, 2026 start. Without additional recent opportunities in the source, no meaningful geographic spread or issuing-body pattern can be characterized for dehairing-machine procurement at the state and local level.
