UNSPSC 20101715: Crusher bit

Bits to crush coal and rock in mining and ore preparation

UNSPSC 20101715 Crusher bit is a Commodity code that in practice does not align with recent state and local procurement activity. The three most recent opportunities tagged under this code involve roundabout construction (City of Marietta, Georgia), law enforcement equipment contracting (Sourcewell cooperative purchasing), and expressway pavement rehabilitation (Santa Clara County, California) — none of which involve the procurement or supply of crusher bits or drilling equipment. The code shows little relevant recent activity for vendors supplying crushing, drilling, or bit-related products to state and local governments.

The mismatch between the code's nominal scope and the actual solicitations suggests either a systematic tagging error in the state and local procurement database or that crusher bits are incidental line items within much larger infrastructure projects rather than the primary focus of RFB, RFP, or IFB notices. Vendors evaluating this code should verify directly with issuing bodies whether crusher bits appear in bid documents for pavement, utilities, or foundation work before investing in pursuit strategy, as the available opportunity records offer no actionable intelligence on demand, issuing-body patterns, or geographic concentration under this Commodity code.
