UNSPSC 15131600: Fission fuel assemblies

UNSPSC 15131600 Fission fuel assemblies is a Class code, but the recent state and local activity under it shows a fundamental mismatch: the code nominally covers nuclear reactor fuel, yet the single recent opportunity posted is a municipal fleet fueling contract for conventional gasoline and diesel. The City of Little Rock Fleet Department issued an RFQ (solicitation 249486, due September 10, 2026) to supply E10 87 Octane Unleaded Gasoline and Red Dyed #2 Ultra-Low Sulfur Diesel across 13 fueling stations for municipal vehicles, with a standing requirement to maintain a minimum 20% fuel level at all sites. The scope covers fuel supply only; no ancillary services, maintenance, or infrastructure upgrades are included.

The code shows minimal relevant recent activity under its stated nuclear-fuel scope in state and local procurement. The single opportunity on record is a mislabeled municipal procurement for conventional transportation fuels, suggesting either a data-entry error in the coding or that state and local agencies are not currently soliciting fission fuel assemblies through standard procurement channels. A firm pursuing opportunities genuinely within the nuclear fuel space would find this code provides no actionable signal at present.
