UNSPSC 15101512: Petroleum coke or pet coke

A carbon solid derived from oil refinery coker units or other cracking processes.

UNSPSC 15101512 Petroleum coke or pet coke is a Commodity code that shows little relevant recent activity in state and local procurement. The single recent opportunity tagged to this code—Sourcewell RFP #061626, posted May 12, 2026, with a June 16, 2026 deadline—solicits law enforcement equipment, a category plainly unrelated to petroleum coke or pet coke sourcing. The mismatch suggests either a coding error in the state and local database or incidental tagging that does not reflect actual buying patterns under this Commodity code.

Without recent opportunities that align to the code's nominal scope, characterization of actual state and local procurement activity for petroleum coke or pet coke, issuing-body participation, geographic concentration, or representative work is not supported by the source material. Business development professionals evaluating this code should verify current activity through direct outreach to state energy, transportation, or heavy-manufacturing procurement offices, or through cooperative purchasing catalogs, as the available opportunity data does not establish a meaningful market signal at present.
