UNSPSC 14121503: Cardboard

UNSPSC 14121503 Cardboard is a Commodity code that rarely appears in recent state and local procurement activity. The single tracked opportunity under this code — Sourcewell RFP #061626, posted May 12, 2026 with a June 16, 2026 response deadline — is tagged as law enforcement equipment procurement, a scope plainly unrelated to cardboard products or packaging. The mismatch suggests either a miscoding error in the opportunity record or a peripheral use of cardboard in law enforcement equipment contexts (such as shipping containers or protective packaging) that does not reflect the primary intent of the solicitation. State and local governments do procure cardboard and corrugated packaging under commodity codes, but the recent opportunity data does not capture representative examples of genuine cardboard purchases.

The geographic spread cannot be characterized from relevant opportunities. Sourcewell, a Minnesota local government cooperative, issued the tracked RFP on behalf of participating entities including Franklin, Grant, Grays Harbor, Chelan, and Yakima counties in Washington state, along with numerous other jurisdictions and public entities throughout the United States and Canada, but the underlying procurement addresses law enforcement equipment rather than cardboard. The absence of aligned opportunities in the recent tracking data suggests this code either sees minimal state and local activity or is underutilized in procurement tagging relative to the actual scope of cardboard purchases across jurisdictions.
