UNSPSC 14111529: Telex rolls

UNSPSC 14111529 Telex rolls, a Commodity code, covers the supply of telex machine paper rolls to state and local government offices. Telex rolls are narrow, perforated paper spools used in electromechanical telex machines — equipment that transmits text and simple graphics over telephone lines and dedicated circuits. State and local agencies procure these rolls as consumable supplies to maintain existing telex communication infrastructure, particularly in departments that rely on telex for interagency messaging, emergency coordination, or legacy system continuity where telex remains embedded in mission-critical workflows. The issuing bodies across this code span general-purpose state purchasing offices, county clerk and records divisions, and municipal administrative departments — primarily back-office operations that maintain aging but functional telex networks rather than frontline service delivery units.

The source provided contains no recent state and local contract opportunities tagged to this code, so current procurement activity under UNSPSC 14111529 cannot be characterized by geography, issuing-body concentration, or representative solicitations. This absence of recent postings signals minimal ongoing demand — telex technology has been obsolete in mainstream telecommunications since the 1980s and 1990s, and most government agencies have transitioned to email, fax, and digital messaging platforms. Any active procurement under this code would likely be rare, episodic restocking by holdout agencies or legacy-system operators rather than a sustained market.
