UNSPSC 10171501: Manure or guano

UNSPSC 10171501 Manure or guano, a Commodity code, covers the procurement of animal waste products for use as soil amendments, fertilizers, and organic matter in landscaping, grounds maintenance, and agricultural applications by state and local governments. State and local agencies — primarily parks departments, public works operations, school districts maintaining athletic fields and grounds, and transportation authorities managing roadside vegetation — procure manure and guano to support turf management, erosion control, land reclamation, and sustainable grounds care. The code encompasses raw manure from livestock operations, processed or composted manure products, and guano from bird or bat sources, typically acquired through open-market purchase orders or cooperative purchasing arrangements with agricultural suppliers and landscape material vendors.

The source provides no recent state or local contract opportunities tagged to this code, making it impossible to characterize geographic concentration, issuing-body frequency, or representative current solicitations. Without posted RFPs, RFQs, IBFs, or ITBs to reference, the actual procurement pattern under this Commodity code remains opaque to market analysis at this time.
