NIGP 81552: Packing, All Kinds (Except Sheet): Rod, Shaft, Valve Stem, etc.

NIGP 81552 Packing, All Kinds (Except Sheet): Rod, Shaft, Valve Stem, Etc., an Item code, covers mechanical sealing and packing materials that state and local governments source for maintenance, repair, and replacement of industrial equipment, pump systems, valve assemblies, and rotating machinery. These products include rod packing, shaft seals, valve-stem packing, and similar elastomeric and composite sealing elements used across water utilities, wastewater treatment facilities, fleet maintenance operations, and public works departments. The code sees demand primarily from water and sanitation districts, municipal public works departments, county maintenance shops, and state transportation and facility-management agencies that maintain aging infrastructure and vehicle fleets. Issuing bodies soliciting under this code tend to be operating departments within municipalities and counties rather than centralized state procurement offices, reflecting the distributed nature of mechanical-equipment maintenance across local jurisdictions.

No recent state and local contract opportunities posted under NIGP 81552 appear in the available source material.
