NIGP 64554: Kenaf Tree Free Paper (Including Recycled)

NIGP 64554 Kenaf Tree Free Paper (Including Recycled), an Item code, covers specialty paper products manufactured from kenaf fiber or recycled content as alternatives to traditional wood-pulp paper. State and local governments procure this commodity for internal administrative use, printing, and operational needs where environmental or sustainability specifications drive purchasing decisions. The code attracts solicitations from municipal procurement offices and other local governmental entities that have adopted green-purchasing standards or sustainability mandates in their procurement policies.

The City of Savannah represents the recent documented activity under this code, though the single posted opportunity does not establish a clear pattern of geographic concentration or issuing-body mix. Savannah issued Event No. 12456 via its Procurement and Contracts Division on August 11, 2026, with bids due August 25, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. through the supplier portal at www.savannahga.gov/bids; a pre-bid meeting was scheduled for August 19, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Floyd Adams Jr. Complex in Savannah, Georgia. The limited recent-opportunity data in the source does not support broader characterization of geographic spread or repeat-buyer activity under this code.
