NIGP 57007: Bar Stock, All Kinds (Not Otherwise Classified)

NIGP 57007 Bar Stock, All Kinds (Not Otherwise Classified), an Item code, encompasses raw metal bar stock procurement by state and local governments across construction, manufacturing, maintenance, and infrastructure repair applications. The code captures round, flat, square, and specialty-profile bar materials in ferrous and non-ferrous metals — steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and other alloys — that jurisdictions source for welding, fabrication, structural reinforcement, fleet vehicle repair, and public works projects. State and local buyers under this code range from maintenance and operations divisions within state departments and county public works to municipal utilities, transit authorities, and school district facilities teams.

No recent state or local contract opportunities under NIGP 57007 appear in the available procurement records. The absence of recent solicitation activity suggests either that bar stock procurement under this Item code is handled through standing cooperative purchasing agreements, integrated into broader facilities or construction contracts under different NIGP codes, or sourced through informal or blanket purchasing arrangements at the agency level rather than through formal competitive notices. Business development professionals monitoring this code should track cooperative purchasing catalogs and state-level blanket-purchase schedules to identify active bar stock demand that may not surface as discrete RFPs or ITBs.
