NIGP 44591: Wrenches, All Kinds (Including Sockets)

NIGP 44591 Wrenches, All Kinds (Including Sockets) is an Item code that captures hand tools and socket assemblies purchased as components within larger maintenance, construction, and repair projects by state and local jurisdictions. State and local governments buy wrenches under this code as part of operational supplies for emergency services, water and infrastructure maintenance, facility operations, and capital projects rather than as standalone commodity procurements. The issuing bodies include state environmental agencies, county governments operating fire rescue departments and public-safety infrastructure, and special-purpose park authorities. Wrenches appear in sourcing activity as line items within broader janitorial and operational supplies contracts, water-main-upgrade projects, and recurring consumables procurement.

Recent activity shows limited standalone wrench solicitation. The Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners posted ITB 2600319 on July 7, 2026, requesting consumable janitorial and operational supplies (including hand tools as part of the broader scope) for Hillsborough County Fire Rescue Department's 47 fire stations, with bids due July 24, 2026 and an estimated contract value of $765,679.84 for one year. The Maryland Environmental Service posted solicitation 1262135R on July 9, 2026, for a water-main upgrade and extension at Janes Island State Park with bids due August 10, 2026, where wrenches and related hand tools would be incidental to the construction scope. Geographic activity is concentrated in Florida and Maryland based on recent opportunities. No repricing or standalone wrench-specific RFPs, RFQs, or ITBs appear in the recent opportunities block, indicating that wrench procurement under this code flows primarily as embedded line items within larger facilities, emergency-services, or infrastructure solicitations rather than as dedicated tool-focused contracts.
