NIGP 09088: Tables, Bakers'

NIGP 09088 Tables, Bakers' is an Item code covering commercial baking and food preparation tables that state and local governments procure for school nutrition facilities, institutional cafeterias, and food service operations. The scope encompasses large-format work tables, baker's tables, and related food preparation surfaces used in high-volume institutional kitchen environments. State and local issuing bodies under this code include school districts and county education systems managing centralized food service procurement, particularly those operating USDA-funded nutrition assistance programs.

Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) in Florida issued ITB 26147-ITB-DST in September 2026 for large food equipment serving student nutrition services across multiple school sites, with the response due June 2, 2026 (superseding an earlier May 26, 2026 deadline). The contract is federally funded under the USDA Food and Nutrition Service and the National School Lunch Act, requiring bidders to comply with Buy American provisions, prevailing wage standards for contracts exceeding $100,000, and mandatory USDA debarment and drug-free workplace certifications. HCPS reserved the right to terminate with 30 days' notice and established Net 45 payment terms under Florida's Prompt Payment Act. Four addenda between May 4 and May 21, 2026 modified specifications and submission procedures; pre-screening evaluated vendor qualifications before formal bid evaluation. Contractor employees assigned to school sites must satisfy Florida's Jessica Lunsford Act background check requirements.
