NIGP 03531: Encryption/Decryption Systems, Aircraft

NIGP 03531 Encryption/Decryption Systems, Aircraft is an Item code covering cryptographic equipment and systems for aircraft platforms used by state and local law enforcement, emergency services, and specialized operations units. The source contains no recent state or local solicitations explicitly naming aircraft encryption or decryption systems. A May 2026 RFP issued by Sourcewell on behalf of participating Washington counties (Franklin, Grant, Grays Harbor, Chelan, and Yakima) and other jurisdictions nationwide sought proposals for Law Enforcement Equipment through a cooperative purchasing vehicle, though the available documentation does not specify whether aircraft encryption systems were included within that broader scope. A July 2026 notice from Williamson County Purchasing Department announced an office relocation and does not constitute a procurement opportunity.

Without solicitation records specifically naming encryption or decryption systems for aircraft under this NIGP code in the recent-opportunities block, no geographic concentration, issuing-body pattern, or representative contract details can be established. Firms pursuing this code should monitor state law enforcement, state aviation authorities, and emergency management agencies in regions with active aircraft operations for future RFPs or RFQs that may incorporate aircraft encryption systems within broader equipment or communications procurements, particularly through cooperative purchasing vehicles like Sourcewell that aggregate demand across multiple jurisdictions.
